Our dogs have many many (many many) toys.

And although they love most of them, none is as interesting to them or as useful to us as the Kong.

The classic Kong toy is what we use to keep our dogs busy or distracted while keeping them mentally stimulated.

Either when we have to leave them home alone or when we’re trying to work and they keep wanting out attention, nothing is quite as effective as a Kong filled with tasty stuff.

Perfect for teething puppies and for calming hyper-active dogs, the Kong can also be used to crate-train your dog because it will keep him calm and happy while he’s spending time in his new crate.

While there are many Kong-like toys from other great brands, we do find that Kong tends to be more resistant to our dogs’ teeth than most materials.

The Benefits of a Stuffed Kong

Whichever Kong you choose, there is much more to it than just being a plain toy your dog will love.

Aside from keeping your dog busy and mentally stimulated and entertained, the Kong also work very well for fast eaters, you can even feed your dog using it.

Just place his food inside and watch him do his best to eat it.

Overall, the reason why the Kong works so great is because it gives dogs a job to do, a purpose.

We believe most dogs these days lack purpose. They’re playing but not really working, not being properly challenged.

Trust us, Kongs will make dogs work for their food bit by bit.

And that is perfect for any dog, particularly bored ones.

Top 3 Best Kong Toys

When you talk about Kong, you usually have the classic model in mind, the one with the hole in the bottom where all the goodness spills from.

But there are actually other more modern models that can work better for your dog or maybe just offer a bit of variety to his Kong routine.

There are options in every shape and size, but we’ll just let you know what our favorites are.

The Wobbler

First up is the Wobbler, which has a similar shape to the classic Kong, but a somewhat different purpose.

The way the Wobbler works is, you fill it with small sized treats and offer it to your dog. While playing with it, your dog will roll the Wobbler around and, as it rolls, it drops the treats one by one.

So much fun to watch!

Jump N’Jack

This one combines the need to chew on something delicious with dental care, all in one, without forgetting the fun.

Imagine a very resistant toy with a very odd shape that bounces all over the place.

Now, add to that lots of grooves and holes that you can stuff with treats and food and you ave the Jump N’Jack.

It’s such a clever toy, because the dogs love it and we love the fact that when our dogs are chewing away at those grooves they’re cleaning their gums and teeth without the havoc of having to brush their teeth.

Classic Kong

Overall, we must admit we still prefer the classic model.

Because, not only does it last long, it gives you more stuffing options, read on to see just how amazingly creative you can get when stuffing your dog’s Kong.
